Stoneware vase designed by Gunnar Nylund, hand thrown at Rörstrand, Sweden during the 1940s. Light blue, speckled grey glaze on an incised stripe pattern. Signed. Very good condition.

About the designer
Gunnar NYLUND
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish designer known for his contributions to the Scandinavian ceramics industry. Born in Paris, Nylund spent his childhood in France and studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1925, he returned to Sweden and began working in the ceramics industry in Upsala-Ekeby.
