About this vintage design furniture

Antique Towel Stand This incredibly rare Victorian mahogany towel stand is of superior quality thanks to its solid construction and aesthetically pleasing appeal. Made by Marsh, Jones & Cribb, this iconic Victorian company was known for its quality craftsmanship and an unusual feature—paper labels with their maker’s stamp, cabinet maker’s name and signature with the date all handwritten. The rail is also marked with the number 1982. Marsh and Jones: Medieval Cabinet Makers of Leeds founded in 1850 became Marsh, Jones & Cribb in 1867 and exhibited at the Paris Exposition in 1878. The company employed Charles Bevan, who in 1865 gave them the licence to manufacture his successful ‘new registered reclining chair’. Bruce James Talbert, another renowned architect and interior designer, also designed items for the company in the 1870s and 1880s. This towel stand would make a beautiful addition to a bathroom or bedroom, especially one that already showcases Victorian style furniture and accessories. Dimensions: 94 cm height x 34 cm depth x 83 cm width. Condition: In good antique condition.
