About this vintage design furniture

This is another design example of the so called ’Brussels Style’, adopted by many Czech households after the successful Expo 1958 in Brussels where Czechoslovakia won 13 prizes including one in the furniture category. This Coffee Table was designed by Jiri Jiroutek and was produced by Cesky Nabytek during the 1960’s. There were two versions of this piece available - one with a yellow and one with a black opaxite glass. The table has been designed with a careful attention to every detail and has got a simple but dynamic and slender design. The shiny black opaxite glass table top contrasts with the beech wooden structure. Jiroutek is mainly know for his sideboards range with diferent coloured formica drawers manufactured by Interier Praha but this piece shows Jiroutek’s talent to design furniture that is practical and popular. The Coffee Table is in great original condition with only some minor wear and tear on the wooden parts and on the glass surface.
