About this vintage design furniture
This rare and unique desk-dressing table with luggage rack was designed by Florence Knoll in the early fifties for Knoll associates. It is a rare and unique find that I have never seen passing online or on an auction. The only information I did find was in the original catalog of Knoll and in the book Modern Furnishings for the home by Willian J Henesy. This very well preserved furniture shows well the style of Florence Knoll, who had studied architecture under Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Eliel Saarinen before joining her husband in the company. The furniture exists out of a desk and vanity area. Each upper drawer can flip open. Behind the right drawer a writing desk is hidden. It has compartiments for desk supplies and paper. Behind the left drawer you can find a vanity table with a mirror and little compartments. Next to the cabinets you can find a luggage rack who also can be used as a small bench or carrying decorative objects. The cabinet stands in a very good and original condition. It comes from the original owner, who took very well care of it.
