About this vintage design furniture
This is a very special set of dining chairs in a brutalist style, probably designed and produced in the 1970s. We have never seen another series of similar chairs, even though its style reveals its origin: the Netherlands. How can we say that the slatted design of the chair is very similar to the designs of Martin Visser's 't Spectrum and Walter Antonis' Arspect. In addition, the chairs reveal a code printed in the wood that reveals a potential link to the Spectrum factory in Bergeijk in the Netherlands. Although the chairs cannot be linked to Aspect or 't Spectrum and are of unknown provenance, it is most likely that they were produced at the Spectrum factory in 'T and most likely for an unknown brand and/or designer or to a specific customer order. The chairs have a solid wood structure that has been painted black. The design is particularly attractive due to its curved slats, both for the seat and the backrest. The backrest slats are positioned so that they face forwards. The overall design is very abstract and the finish is in keeping with the popular brutalist look. The chairs are very solidly constructed. The chairs are in good solid condition and in good general original condition, with a slight visible patina.
