About this vintage design furniture
This set of 4 Wilkhahn chairs with brown fabric and beige fiberglass shells is in good condition for its age. The fabric covers of the chairs are intact and only show signs of wear at the corners of the armrests. One of the chairs is slightly lighter in color than the others. The fiberglass shells are undamaged. The chairs have a swivel function. The chairs can be used as dining room or office chairs. The designer Georg Leowald, who leaned towards the Bauhaus and Deutsche Werkstätten, designed the chairs for Wilkhahn in the 1960s. More than 100 years ago, the Wilkhahn company was founded by Friedrich Hahne and Christian Wilkening as a chair factory. In 1946 contact was made with the Deutsche Werkstätten with the designers Georg Leowald and Herbert Hirche, who worked in the Bauhaus tradition. Since then, Wilkhahn has been one of the premium manufacturers of office furniture.
