About this vintage design furniture
Amsterdam School furnitures are characterized by an abundance of shapes in which the parabola and trapezium are common. A fine example of an Art Deco interior as an ensemble is the Amsterdam Tuschinski theater or the Scheepvaarthuis. The most representative furniture of the Amsterdam school style was designed by a trio with the three K’s. Namely Michel de Klerk (1884-1923), Piet Kramer (1881-1961) and Hildo Knop (1884-1970). The furniture was large, exclusive and eccentric, intended for the wealthy elite. A famous studio in Amsterdam was’ t Woonhuys, the most extravagant furniture was offered there. This amazingly beautiful charming small writing desk is from the 40s-50s and in excellent condition consistent with age and use. Rare and timeless object.
