Vintage green marble coffee table 1950s

Beautiful, chic, cocktail coffee table, vintage, mid-century, brass frame with green marble top, reminiscent of the style and some productions of the Parisian house, Maison Jansen, circa 1950-60. The rectangular gilded brass frame has a geometric design under the table top with two long concave shapes, which meet with two smaller concave sides, to form an elegant "arch" shape, with an acorn-shaped ornament, at the center. The marble top is known as "Guatemalan green", a "serpentine green" marble of a deep rich color with white veins, used by many architects and interior designers for luxury projects because of the beautiful overall effect it produces. This color, in contrast to the bright gold color of the frame, the elegantly carved legs and tips, really make this glamorous table, an unusual conversation piece. The piece remains in very good original condition, with some signs and marks of use as time goes on, as well as faded colors and patina of age, on the brass frame and legs (see photos). The marble top has no cracks or chips. There are very slight traces of use (scratches) on some parts of the surface, proportional to age and use over time, which are not obviously visible. Depending on the light in which one looks at the table, they seem to be more or less integrated into the pattern of the veins (see photos with a 1 cent coin for perspective.) The table is robust and solid. It has been cleaned and polished only gently to preserve the original patina. A fantastic and timeless piece that will blend perfectly with any vintage, mid-century, contemporary, classic or regency decor.
