About this vintage design furniture
Mid-century walnut desk A Younger desk by John Herbert, comprising four drawers with dovetail joints, the whole set is in French walnut. A Younger was a leading contemporary furniture manufacturer in the late 1950s and 1960s. Their chief designer was the talented John Herbert, about whom little is known outside of his designs for Youngers. A Younger's chests of drawers are often much larger than those of other British or even Danish manufacturers. They aimed to sell to wealthy and elegant customers, who owned large houses and probably more socks, knitwear, etc. than the average person at the time. Circa the early 1960s. Made in Britain, Danish design. The label 'A Younger' is on the back of a drawer. Very Good - This vintage item has no flaws, normal use marks are apparent.
