Brutalist tabletop by Sensée. Cement tiles. Ceramic motifs representing Paleolithic hunting scenes. Twisted wrought iron legs. Circa 1960----The number and variety of the motifs contribute to make this Sensée table a rare and exceptional piece among the productions of the same artist. No two motifs are exactly alike. A relief is rendered by a particular treatment of the ceramic, recalling the irregularities of cave paintings. The twisted brutalist base is equally rare for known tables of the same inspiration.This is probably a special commission.
