About this vintage design furniture
Designed by the German factory Carstens Tönnieshof and manufactured in Austria in the 1960s, this model, whose decoration is reminiscent of a long stay at the bottom of the sea, perfectly illustrates the Japanese aesthetic concept of Wabi-Sabi.Wabi-Sabi links two principles: wabi (solitude, simplicity, melancholy, nature, sadness, asymmetry...) and sabi (the alteration by time, the decrepitude of aging things, the patina of objects, the taste for aged things, for dirtiness, etc.). The wabi refers to the fullness and modesty that can be experienced in the face of natural phenomena, and the sabi, the sensation in the face of things in which we can detect the work of time or men. This model is in perfect condition and measures 35 cm high with a diameter of 15 cm.
