About this vintage design furniture
Rare set of Raak Clair-Obscur wall lamps (c-1516) designed by the Raak design team (including Nanny Still-Mackinny, Tapiovaara Wirkkala and Frank Ligtelijn) in 1962. The light creeps where it cannot go. The light crawls out of copper pipes and at the same time it gently shines up and down. A game of bright – dark, of clair – obscur. These wall lamps would look very nice in a compilation of 2 or 3. The condition of this pair is still very good and original with minimal traces of use and wear (see photos). The interior (at the bulb holder) from the lamps is different; one lamp has a switch on the side (see photos). Dimensions: h x w x d 20 x 27 x 15 cm. Source: Raak catalogue 5 (1962) page 134. The price is for the set of two.
