About this vintage design furniture
Lovely earth colored pottery dish from the ’Moske’ range model 7083M by designer Mari Simmulson produced for Upsala Ekeby in 1967-68. The Moske items has a rustic glazed surface and a delicate shape. This dish has striped beige and brown inner decor and a brown green edge all around. Good vintage condition and perfect Scandinavian design. Marked 7083M and UE Sweden. Measures: 33cmD and 3,5 cmH. Good vintage condition. Mari Simmulson (1911-2000) was born by Estonian parents in St.Petersburg, Russia. At the Russian revolution in 1917 the family moved back to Estonia. In the 1930s Mari studied at the State Art School in Tallinn and further developed her skills at the Arabia porcelain factory in Helsinki. Mari Simmulson is one of the well-known representatives of the illustrious Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century

About the designer
Mari SIMMULSON
Marie Simmulson was a Swedish designer born in 1911 in St Petersburg, Russia. She moved to Sweden in 1915 with her family, where she studied at the Göteborg School of Decorative Arts. She went on to study at the Konstfack School of Art in Stockholm, graduating in 1936.
