Mid century teak sideboard by Meredew Ltd., UK 1960s

Mid Century sideboard in original teak plywood by the English firm Meredew Furniture Ltd. The design is symmetrically constructed with a cupboard on each side and a central block of four drawer units. The left-hand cupboard is divided with a central shelf, while the left-hand cupboard reveals an original bar cabinet compartmentalised into two spaces that multiply its storage possibilities. Of its four drawers, the top one is a cutlery tray with three compartments lined in mustard-coloured Alcantara fabric. Its design stands out for the combination of wood tones that frame the different compartments of the unit. Other design details include the simple, modern recessed handles on doors and drawers and the original spherical detail on the foot of the conical legs that support the piece of furniture. It is in good condition after having been restored and finished with two coats of Osmos oil-wax. It has slight scars commensurate with its use and age as can be seen in the photographs.
