About this vintage design furniture
Pair of “Junior” armchairs designed by
Yrjö Kukkapuro, manufactured by Haimi
in Finland during the mid – 1960s.
Swivel chairs, made from fiberglass with
enameled steel base. Original dark brown
leather upholstery. Very good vintage
condition with patina and signs of wear.

About the designer
Yrjö KUKKAPURO
Yrjö Kukkapuro is a Finnish designer born in 1933. He studied at the Helsinki Institute of Industrial Art and began his career working for the Haimi furniture company in 1959. In 1964, he set up his own design studio, Studio Kukkapuro, where he designed functional and innovative furniture that won several international awards.
