About this vintage design furniture

Balett is a pendant light made from transparent sheets of PVC. It was designed by Lars Eiler Schiøler in 1974 and manufactured by the Danish plastic light pioneers Hoyrup Lighting. Due to the quite fragile nature of these sheets quite few of them survived. This one is in good condition with no breaks. However the plastic has some slight discoloration and some smaller spots and marks as seen in the close images. Hoyrup Light was founded by Preben Johan Høyrup in the late 1940s.In the 60s and 70s, Hoyrup Light grew explosively, starting with the highly sculptural lamps made of plastic foil and as assembly sets with instructions for use, so that they could be easily sent to consumers. In total, Høyrup Light in its lifetime amounted to approx. 80 lamp models. Reference : 265090
