Vintage Ultra pendant lamp by Jo Hammerborg for Fog and Morup, Denmark 1960s

Hanging lamp Ultra designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog and Morup in the 1960s. Danish design classic. This hanging lamp is equipped with blue and different shades of light orange. The colors of the lamp have faded a bit after all these years, but that gives the lamp a nice vintage look. Jo Hammerborg grew up on the outskirts of Randers in an ordinary middle-class family. He trained as a silversmith, participated as a saboteur in the Danish resistance and the struggle for freedom in 1940-45, studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked as a silversmith for Georg Jensen. In 1957 he was hired as chief designer at the lamp manufacturer Fog and Mørup, where he worked until 1980. Reference : 272917
