Vintage chandelier model 2128 by Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte, Italy 1964

Stunning chandelier designed by Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte, Italy, 1964. Fontana Arte model number 2128. The chandelier is composed of two rectangular and eight square translucent green (verde nilo) crystal glass panels and three satin opaline glass diffusers, mounted to a rectangular brass fixture. The teal green crystal glass panels provide a repetitive reflection of the opaline glass diffusers. This makes it seem the lamp has plural floating diffusers which spread the light even more beautifully. A very inventive design. This chandelier is an example of quality in all its ways, the fixture is suspended from two brass rods and matching canopy.The condition of the chandelier is very good, with minor wear consistent with age. Max Ingrand (1908-1969) was a famous French decorator and master glass-worker. He studied at the school of Fine Arts in Paris. From 1954 on he was the artistic director of Fontana Arte. Many designs from his hand were very successful for the company and still are timeless design classics nowadays.
