Danish Modern Banana Sofa and Chair by Kurt Olsen for Slagelse Møbelværk, 1950s.
Danish Mid-century Modern curved sofa and lounge chair in velvet upholstery with armrests and legs in solid teak.
This is a rare model No. 275 three-seater velour sofa and matching easy chair designed in the 1950s by Danish designer Kurt Olsen and manufactured by Slagelse Furniture, Denmark.
Light appearance due to the triangular tapered legs and slim curved lines. Very comfortable with good back support.
Sofa: 175 x 90 x 75, seat height 41 cm.
Chair: 71 x 80 x 75, seat height 41 cm.
Good vintage condition with patina consistent with age and use to the fabric, please see photos. Sofa seat has been fitted with new high density foam.

Kurt Olsen was a Danish industrial designer who was born in 1924 and died in 1994. He is best known for his work at Bang & Olufsen, a high-end consumer electronics company, where he worked for over three decades.
