Vintage fireplace screen in metal and bead embroidery, Italy 1930-1940s

Rare vintage fireplace screen made in Italy in the 30s and 40s. A fire screen is a flat, movable piece of furniture placed in front of a fireplace to dampen heat or excessive light caused by a flame. The fireplace screen rests on two bronze feet. Very decorative item, good quality with fine embroidery and beautiful patina. Unusually elegant beadwork is very well-preserved.
