Set of 4 vintage chairs model " Unicorn " by Pierre Guariche for Baumann, 1960

Beautiful suite of 4 "Unicorn" chairs in excellent condition, designed by Pierre Guariche (1926-1995) for the Baumann company.These chairs are made of solid beech wood, with an ergonomic shape, a curved back and a comfortable seat. These chairs are upholstered and covered with black leatherette in perfect condition.These chairs are also distinguished by their tapered legs with compass feet.Solid and elegant, these chairs will seduce you by their timeless design and their quality of manufacture. Pierre Guariche (1926-1995) is a visionary French designer. He studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs and graduated in 1949. He then worked in Marcel Gascoin's workshop and presented his first models at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs and the Salon des Arts Ménagers. In 1953, he designed the mythical "Tonneau" chair for Steiner. In 1957, he was appointed Artistic Director of the Meurop company. Thereafter, he will share his knowledge with students at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris.Baumann is a furniture manufacturing company created in 1901 by the Swiss Emile Baumann. It reached its peak between 1950 and 1970 by producing qualitative and innovative furniture. This Manufacture worked in symbiosis with important designers.
