About this vintage design furniture

Stunning Large-scale Abstract piece of art by internationally renowned Post-Modernist British artist, Lucy Hunter, entitled ‘Explosion of Summer’ 1988. This piece features a wide array of vibrant colours from oranges, reds and greens crafted using Lucy Hunter’s synonymous medium, Acrylic, hand touched in a beautifully layered mannered. This piece features its original artistic frame with pieces attached to the canvas in a design-purpose manner; the cuts exhibiting a relation to the painting and being just as much a part of the piece as the Acrylic Paint creation. This piece exhibits everything that one looks for in a Post-modernist Abstract piece from the attention to details, the materials used and most importantly the way in which this piece creates a space for the viewer to hermeneutically reason with its meaning. Lucy Hunter was and still is a pioneering artist of Post-modernist Abstract Art. Coming from a family of artists Hunter was surrounded by art from her mother and father both being accomplished artists and she followed in their footsteps. Studying Fine Art at the RCA (Royal College of Art) in London she left with her degree and headed to New York were she became a part of the fresh art scene there and becoming enthralled by Globally Iconic artist Basquiat. She left New York in 1986 and spent time in Berlin where she fell in love with Bauhaus and there is a clear pivot in her art from much more clear less hermeneutic work to much more inhibited work as she became more influenced by such greats of Early Post-modernism such as Wassily Kandinsky. She returned from Berlin in 1996 and it was here that she initially sold this piece at an exhibition held in Kensington where you she grouped her art into 3 ‘years’ of her life all three representative of a different influence; the final being Post-modern Abstract, the work that she is most renowned for. it entered a private collection of which it has remained a part of until now. The only reason such a special piece has come onto the open market is because of the passing of the purchaser and we were lucky enough to purchase this piece at an estate sale in Barcelona, Spain. This is a very rare opportunity to buy a piece from a world renowned Artist and an expert in Post-Modernist Abstract art. This piece is sold with its original exhibition board and is hand-signed ‘LMH’ by Lucy Hunter. This piece is awaiting approval to be placed in an Abstract Art auction at Sothebys and may well fetch more than the priced being asked, so this is a golden opportunity to purchase at this piece at a fixed price. Condition report: Excellent Condition, this piece has been protected from sun-damage, marking and Dust. Every part of the Acrylic remains immaculate and intact. This piece has belonged to an avid collector of art who has made sure that every possible risk ageing has been averted on this piece coming from a Pet-free, Smoke free and maid kept home. The designed frame is in immaculate condition and features all of the cut pieces, even the smallest as photographed. Dimensions: Width - 126cm Height - 154cm Depth - 6cm Reference : 283546
