About this vintage design furniture
"Kristall" side table designed by Michele de Lucchi in 1981 for the Memphis Milano inaugural collection.
Made in Italy, the table consists of bright yellow lacquered wood, covered with decorative black and white houndstooth pattern laminate, and with painted metal elements.
Its anthropomorphic appearance was a much-repeated motif for de Lucchi during his early years with the collective.

About the designer
Michel DE LUCCHI
Michel de Lucchi is an Italian designer born in 1951 in Ferrara, Italy. He studied architecture at the University of Florence and began his career as an assistant to the architect and designer Ettore Sottsass. In 1981, he co-founded the Memphis design group, which played an important role in the postmodern movement.
