About this vintage design furniture
Vintage Bauhaus Design Lounge Chair set of 2. Designed by Erich Dieckmann. Made in the 1930's, Germany. Steam bent beech wooden frame with cane rattan woven seat and back. The cane has some minor damages which reflects it's age and use. They come in very good, original condition. Each chair measures 75,5cm x 57cm x 66cm.
Erich Dieckmann was one of the pre-eminent furniture designers of the Bauhaus and, like Marcel Breuer, was experimenting with steel tubing, standardization, and geometric forms in the 1920s and 1930s. These chairs are the results of one of these experiments. Erich Dieckmann was one of the most important furniture designers of the Bauhaus movement, leaving behind an iconic body of Bauhaus-inspired seating.
