About this vintage design furniture
Ouvrard and Villars, pp. 20th century - Saint Ouen, France
Old lantern made by Ouvrard and Villars at the beginning of the 20th century. It is an old ship's lantern, whose structure has a cavity inside to place an oil burner. Made of copper, the ornaments and details are brass. A thick, transparent glass allows light to come out and illuminate noticeably. On its front, it has a sign with the manufacturer's signature. This type of lantern was used to mark ships, therefore, it has a handle on the top. This lamp is very versatile as it can be on a table, on the floor, fixed to the wall or even suspended. Durable, timeless... ambient lighting with character.
Ouvrard et Villars began in 1900 based in St Ouen, near Paris. The company produced various types of lighting for the merchant/war navy, the automobile industry, railway transport, etc. The flashlight has considerable weight, making it an advantage aboard a boat or moving vehicle.
