Vintage bar set in wood veneer and chrome metal, Italy 1970

Sophisticated bar or cocktail set of Italian design, closely following the production of renowned designer Willy Rizzo. Both pieces, tray and cooler, have an elegant finish thanks to the combination of lupia wood veneer with chromed metal bands. Its simple, straight and modern lines are an example of the exquisite Italian design of the 1970s. The “TB made in Italy” label is preserved at the bottom of the ice bucket. The perfect set to complete a bar cabinet and a very original gift idea. Willy Rizzo was a renowned Italian photographer and designer. Famous for his creative and original genius, his designs became icons of Italian furniture. His career as a furniture designer began in Rome in the 1960s. One of his first launches was in 1966, a furniture collection inspired by the modernist line of Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier. His style was based on comfort, solidity and usefulness, and his originality derived from his independence as a creator. He resurrected the use of materials such as bronze and marble and the craftsmanship of manufacturing. In this way, he distanced himself from his contemporaries, who since the late 1950s concentrated on mass design and exploring the possibilities of materials such as plastic.
