Vintage desk model "CM136" in lacquered metal by Pierre Paulin for Thonet, 1954
Belgium

About this vintage design furniture
Modernist desk, by Pierre Paulin, Thonet edition circa 1954. Black lacquered metal structure, oak (or ash?) veneered multiplex top and pedestal, natural leather handle. A rare model often confused with the CM178 by the same designer.
The handle is not the original one, but has been refurbished based on photos and period documentation, the woodwork has been reprocessed (no repairs, minor wear visible), the base has just been cleaned with traces of use and wear left as is. Very nice overall appearance.
Dimensions: Width: 110cm, depth: 55cm, height: 73cm.
