About this vintage design furniture

This set of twelve plates created by Venetian master glassmaker Archimedes Seguso dates from 1970. Made from transparent Murano glass, each plate is adorned with amber gold highlights on the rim. Archimede Seguso's plates are distinguished by their generous, perfectly executed circumference and thick, slightly raised rims, which add a touch of elegance while providing a secure hold for their contents. These pieces are in excellent condition, testifying to the timeless quality of Seguso's work. Archimede Seguso (1909-1999), recognized as the finest master glassmaker of the 20th century, reinvented the age-old art of Murano glass when he took over the family business, continuing a 650-year-old tradition. His inventions include "lace" glass (1952) and "feather" glass (1956), developed by rediscovering the 18th-century filigree technique. Works in "lace" glass, of unique beauty, are preserved in the world's most famous museums. Founded centuries ago as Soffieria Barovier Seguso and Ferro, Seguso was transformed under the leadership of Archimede Seguso into Seguso Vetri D'Arte. The company is one of the oldest glass-making dynasties on the island of Murano, renowned for its visionary designs and unrivalled craftsmanship. Today, the 23rd generation of Seguso glassmakers continues their heritage, ensuring the ongoing evolution and preservation of Venetian glass craftsmanship. Reference : 310600
