About this vintage design furniture

Vase by A.Kostanda, chez Giraud à Vallauris, circa 1940 . Kostanda,(1921-2006) is one of Vallauris' great artists. He started out in 1936 at the Louis Giraud studio in Vallauris, then during the war, he worked in Cluny and then in Macon, where he taught young people in Accolay. In 1948, he returned to Vallauris and opened his own studio. Kostanda uses clay with a hint of sandstone, a reminder of Burgundy. His creations are distinctive for their use of abstract geometric, African or speckled patterns. Shown here is a wide-necked, triple-handled vase with an organic body. Signed on the reverse: Giraud - Vallauris - A.Kostanda In excellent condition, collector's item. 22.5 x 19 x 11 cm Clean, fast and careful shipment. Reference : 313851
