About this vintage design furniture
Type 53 armchair designed by Jaroslav Šmídek. Manufactured by TON during the 1950’s. Represents the Brussels style, which formed after the enormous success of czech design during the Expo 58 Brussels World’s Fair in 1958. Bent beechwood frame fully renovated, new seat cushioning and high quality turquoise upholstery fabric.

Jaroslav Smidek is a Czech industrial designer born in 1988 in Prague. He studied at the University of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, where he graduated with a degree in industrial design in 2013.
