About this vintage design furniture
Rare 1960s Danish Rosewood coffee table by Peter Hvidt and Orla Molgaard Nielsen for France and Sons. Part of the ‘silver line’ series with the aluminium fillet running round the face. A very elegant base, and rare to see in rosewood. Completely original finish, a couple of small scratches but no discolouration. A small ’old’ repair in the top, that doesn’t detract - see photos.

About the designer
Peter HVIDT & Orla MOLGAARD NIELSEN
Hvidt & Mølgaard Nielsen is a mid-20th-century Danish design duo consisting of Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen. Peter Hvidt was born in Copenhagen in 1916 and studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts before working as a designer for various companies. Orla Mølgaard Nielsen was born in Copenhagen in 1907 and also studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, before working as an architect and designer.
