Since the beginning of his career, he has designed pieces of remarkable precision, in perfect harmony with their surroundings. The "messiah of design", as he is known in Japan, has designed eyewear, clothing and furniture such as the Zocker children's desk and stool (1971). Biography Luigi Colani was born in Germany in 1928. He studied sculpture and painting at the Beaux-arts in Berlin, then aerodynamics at the Sorbonne in Paris. In the 50s, he designed the aerodynamics of Fiat, Lancia, BMW, Alfa Romeo and Ferrari automobiles. He also worked in the aviation field for major manufacturers such as Boeing and Rokwell. Later, he turned his attention to furniture, pens, kitchens and trains. He places particular emphasis on form and use. He is the inventor of bio-design, a technique that draws inspiration from nature to solve design problems. Colani is a leading figure in the world of design.
