He studied sculpture and painting at the Beaux-arts in Berlin, then aerodynamics at the Sorbonne in Paris. In the 50s, he designed the aerodynamics of Fiat, Lancia, BMW, Alfa Romeo and Ferrari automobiles. He also worked in the aviation field for major manufacturers such as Boeing and Rokwell. Later, he turned his attention to furniture, pens, kitchens and trains. He places particular emphasis on form and use.
