Egon EIERMANN

He is renowned for his free spirit, light style and geometric lines. He designed numerous pieces of furniture, including the SE chair series (1950). His pieces are particularly representative of German design. Biography Egon Eiermann was born in Germany in 1904. He studied at the Technical School of Architecture in Berlin. He began his career in 1927 as an architect with Karstadt AG in Hamburg. He then worked for the Bewag architectural firm in Berlin. After the war, he taught at the Karlsruhe School of Architecture, alongside his architectural career. He built numerous buildings during the 1930s, as well as the Church of St. Matthew in Pfrozheim in 1953 and the German pavilion for the Brussels World Fair in 1958. He played a major role in German architecture and design.
