residential and public buildings in Italy. However, they soon turned their attention to the design of furniture and interior objects, and began to create original pieces for their architectural projects.

In the 1960s, Stagni and Leonardi set up their own design studio in Florence, where they worked on a variety of projects, from the design of furniture and decorative objects to the creation of exhibitions and scenography. Their work is characterized by a particular attention to materials, form and function, as well as an elegant, minimalist aesthetic.

Their most famous projects include the "Attombri" modular system for the Italian house Driade, as well as furnishing pieces for the Zanotta and Bernini brands.

Stagni and Leonardi's work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and museums, including New York's MoMA, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and Milan's Triennale Design Museum. They have received numerous awards for their work, including the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in 1967.

Franca Stagni passed away in 2018, but Cesare Leonardi continues to work in their Florence studio.
