Pierre Paulin is arguably one of the most influential French designers of his generation. A talented creator, he has contributed to the evolution of the very concept of design, thanks to iconic works that can be found today, in the world's greatest museums. Highly inspired by nature, let's discover some of his creations.
The Ribbon chair, or Ribbon chair
Revolutionary in its shape, colors, and design, the Ribbon Chair became a Pop art icon. Preferring round shapes to the symmetrical lines in vogue at the time, Pierre Paulin disrupted codes, and it was not for nothing that he won a design innovation award at the prestigious Chicago Design Award.
The Pumpkin Chair
Let's now turn our attention to Pierre Paulin's Pumpkin Chair. Did you know that it was created in 1970 following a commission from President Pompidou? His objective was to promote French Art and make it radiate in the world. We can say that he succeeded in his bet, since this armchair (also declined as a sofa) was awarded the Red Dot Design Award.

The Mushroom Chair
The Mushroom Chair has this particularity, which is found a lot in Pierre Paulin, of having a hidden structure. The piece must be above all comfortable and accessible to the greatest number. The designer declines his armchair in several colors to suit a wide audience.

The Tulip Chair
Created in 1965, the Tulip Chair is an "Organic Pop" work. Designed in foam on a disc base, it is inspired by a blooming tulip (the armrests and backrest representing the petals of the flower). Reissued by Artifort in 2003, this piece of contemporary design has continued to inspire designers around the world and into our interiors.
