About this vintage design furniture
Mid-Century sideboard with wengé finish designed by Cees Braakman for Pastoe in the 1960s. The beauty of this sideboard is the contrast between the wenge wood and the white front. Wengé is a wood from West Africa with a fine grain and a regular flame, hard in structure and warm dark brown colour. The Pastoe cabinet is constructed in the same way as the well-known Made to Measure series. The condition of this sideboard is still very good with minimal traces of use and wear; some small spots on the top depending on how the light falls. Dimensions: h x w x d 72 x 227 x 45 cm. Material: wenge wood, wenge veneer, pressed wood, white colour lacquer (original) and a metal base. Marked: Pastoe. Source: Pastoe Catalogue, 1967 page 55. Marked: Pastoe (see photo).
