Vintage pendant lamp by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for Ab Ellysett, Sweden 1970s

Pendant lamp designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by AB Ellysett in Markaryd, Sweden 1970s. AB Ellysett made many pine lamps for IKEA in the 1970s after his designs in the 1950s and 1960s. The material is the same and so is the construction. When you have a lamp without a label, it is probably a Hans-Agne Jakobsson lamp made for IKEA. Executed in bent pine veneer with solid wood base. An architecturally unique lamp so incredibly delicate in its construction that it is very difficult to find intact examples of it. In very good condition it has a small fissure, barely noticeable, in the lower sheet. When illuminated, fine wood projects an organic reddish-orange filtered light that reveals the natural grain of the wood and throws a warm and beautiful glow. 28cm Ø
